Waterloo waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Freeburg Midgets 8-1. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.
Aidan Dintelman made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Waterloo got a massive performance out of Ava Brown, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Brown a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mallory Thompson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
Waterloo's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Freeburg, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
