Softball Game Preview: Ridgeview Wolfpack vs. Central Wise Warriors

The Ridgeview Wolfpack will challenge the Central Wise Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ridgeview has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight losses, while Central Wise will come in with three straight wins.

Last Tuesday, Ridgeview didn't have quite enough to beat Abingdon and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, Central Wise never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Gate City. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won three games by eight runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Spencer Shortt's shutout, as she gave up just six hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maci Gibson, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Chloe Wells was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Ridgeview's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Central Wise, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
