Baseball Recap: Clay-Chalkville Comes Up Short

Clay-Chalkville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 9-4 to the Leeds Greenwave, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Greenwave this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-3 back in February.

Nic Youngblood made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Clay-Chalkville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Leeds, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Clay-Chalkville Cougars face off against Minor Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Leeds, they will square off against Oak Grove at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
