The Grapeland Sandies scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Latexo 66-36 at home. Grapeland has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 24 points or more this season.
Grapeland found their leader in underclassman Mikayla Woods, who dropped a triple-double on 13 points, 13 rebounds, and ten steals. Woods is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Brylei Howard was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with four steals.
Grapeland pushed their record up to 10-9 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.67 points. As for Latexo, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
Grapeland will head out on the road to take on Lovelady at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Lovelady presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Grapeland in Texas (Lovelady is ranked 333rd, while Grapeland is ranked 876th). As for Latexo, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Centerville at 5:00 p.m.
