Soccer Game Preview: Hoover vs. Lake

The Hoover Vikings will venture away from home to face off against the Lake Blue Streaks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Hoover is headed into the contest having not lost since September 9 and will look to keep things rolling. Everything went their way against Berea-Midpark on Saturday as they made off with a 7-0 victory. Given Hoover's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Berea-Midpark are ranked 370th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in September, Lake was forced to settle for a draw on Thursday. They and Nordonia finished up their match with a 2-2 draw.

Hoover's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matchups. Lake's draw makes their record 1-11-2 this season.

Hoover took their win against Lake in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 5-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
