Softball Recap: Hardee Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sebring, Hardee was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Port Charlotte Pirates, sneaking past 9-8. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pirates, too.

The team relied heavily on Elida Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Makylah Garcia, who earned two RBI and two runs.

Hardee is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Port Charlotte, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Hardee will head out to square off against Babcock at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Port Charlotte, they will venture away from home to take on Venice at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season.
