Basketball Game Preview: Bryan Golden Bears vs. Elida Bulldogs

Bryan has gone 3-0 against Elida recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Bryan Golden Bears will welcome the Elida Bulldogs at 1:30 p.m. Bryan will be strutting in after a win while Elida will be coming in after a loss.

Bryan got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They strolled past Liberty Center with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 61-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Bears.

Meanwhile, Elida fought the good fight in their overtime game against Celina on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 61-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Elida came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while Celina is ranked 415th).

The victory got Bryan back to even at 8-8. As for Elida, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7.

Bryan strolled past Elida in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 62-44. Will Bryan repeat their success, or does Elida have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
