Volleyball Recap: Jonesboro Comes Up Short

Jonesboro and Bentonville West squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Jonesboro had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Wolverines. If the Hurricane were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Wolverines when the teams met back in October of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Leading Bentonville West to victory were Olivia Hamm and Jayden Gribble. Hamm had 20 assists and six digs, while Gribble had 13 assists and two aces. Hamm has been hot, having posted 16 or more assists the last five times she's played. Penelope Pettigrew also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Jonesboro has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-11-1 record this season. As for Bentonville West, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-11.

As of now, neither Jonesboro nor the Wolverines have any future games scheduled.
