Baseball Game Preview: Portsmouth Patriots vs. Lincoln Lions

The Portsmouth Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Lincoln Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Portsmouth is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Portsmouth fell victim to North Kingstown and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Skippers, falling 10-0.

Portsmouth saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Damon Owen, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Lincoln and North Kingstown meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Lions lost 11-3 to the Skippers.

Lincoln now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Portsmouth, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Portsmouth beat Lincoln 9-4 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
