Basketball Game Preview: Steward Spartans vs. Banner Christian

Steward is on a ten-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Banner Christian is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Steward Spartans will host Banner Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

On Friday, Steward was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 43-39 to Peninsula Catholic. The matchup marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Banner Christian). They came out on top against Kenston Forest by a score of 69-61 on Friday.

Banner Christian now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Steward, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.

Steward took their win against Banner Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 73-50. In that contest, Steward amassed a halftime lead of 39-15, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Monday.
