The New Smyrna Beach Barracudas entered their tilt with the Deltona Wolves with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. New Smyrna Beach had just enough and edged Deltona out 62-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

New Smyrna Beach's win on Wednesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Josh Reik, who scored 23 points along with five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Reik has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ray Knight, who scored 14 points along with seven assists.

New Smyrna Beach's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mainland at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Mainland knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully New Smyrna Beach likes a good challenge. As for Deltona, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Matanzas at 7:00 p.m. Matanzas will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 376th, while Deltona is ranked 164th).
