Baseball Game Preview: Cedarville Pirates vs. Lamar Warriors

The Cedarville Pirates will venture away from home to challenge the Lamar Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Cedarville has given up an average of 14.1 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cedarville is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 19-6 to Paris.

Justice Workman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Garner, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Lamar might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-1 to Dardanelle, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Warriors have struggled against the Sand Lizards recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Cedarville's record now sits at 1-7. As for Lamar, their record is now 6-10.

Cedarville suffered a grim 15-5 defeat to Lamar in their previous matchup back in April of 2018. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
