Basketball Recap: Plains Extends Winning Streak to 11

Plains had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.1 points) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Friday. Everything went their way against the Sundown Roughnecks as they made off with a 67-43 win. The Cowboys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Several Roughnecks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kye Powell, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Briar Miller, who went 5 for 11 en route to 11 points and five boards.

Plains has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-2 record this season. As for Sundown, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Morton the next time they take the court. Plains will host Morton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Sundown will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st.
