Buckfield waltzed into their game on Tuesday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Old Orchard Beach Seagulls a 25-0 shutout. Give the Bucks' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Carmen Crockett was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Buckfield got a massive performance out of Chloee Bennett, who went 3-for-6 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave Bennett a new career-high. Brittany Carrier was another key player, getting on base in all six of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.

Buckfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .660. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Buckfield's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.1 runs over those games. As for Old Orchard Beach, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Buckfield will host Wiscasset at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolverines have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.55 runs per game on average), something the Bucks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Old Orchard Beach, they will face off against Sacopee Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Seagulls are facing the Hawks at the right time seeing as the Hawks are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
