Baseball Recap: Chaparral Takes a Loss

Chaparral fell victim to Arizona College Prep and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 8-0 to the Knights. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Firebirds' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Chaparral got a good showing from Grafton Marshall-Inman, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Marshall-Inman also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Firebirds are 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-7 otherwise.

Chaparral's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Arizona College Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.

While Chaparral had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
