Preview: Clinton Christian Couriers vs. Community Baptist Christian Cougar
Clinton Christian is 7-0 against Community Baptist Christian since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Clinton Christian Couriers will head out on the road to face off against the Community Baptist Christian Cougar at 7:30 p.m. Clinton Christian has now lost seven straight, leaving the team is hunting for their first win since December 22.
Last Saturday, Clinton Christian suffered a tough 54-34 defeat at the hands of Argos. Clinton Christian has not had much luck with Argos recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Clinton Christian saw an underclassman step up: Dominic Miller scored eight points. Hayden Lower was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Community Baptist Christian, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 43-24 loss to Trinity on Monday. It was the first time this season that Community Baptist Christian let down their fans at home.
Clinton Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Community Baptist Christian, their defeat ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-7.
Clinton Christian won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, slipping by Community Baptist Christian 41-40. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Community Baptist Christian's Brennan Ahlemeyer, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Clinton Christian to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
