Softball Recap: Matawan Regional Takes a Loss

After flying high against Middletown South on Tuesday, Matawan Regional came back down to earth. The Huskies fell 7-4 to the Holmdel Hornets on Wednesday. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Matawan Regional saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie DeChristopher, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Matawan Regional now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Holmdel, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Matawan Regional will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Red Bank Regional at 3:45 p.m. As for Holmdel, they will square off against Shore Regional at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
