Baseball Recap: Parker Has No Trouble Against Jackson-Olin

Parker's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Jackson-Olin Mustangs as the Parker Thundering Herd made off with a 19-7 win. Considering the Thundering Herd have won seven games by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Conellrious Scott made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Parker: the team is 4-2 when he allows at most two hits, but 4-6 otherwise. Scott was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Terrion Nevels, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Parker is undefeated when Nevels posts three or more RBI, but 3-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamarion Miller, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Parker always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Parker's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-8. As for Jackson-Olin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

Coming up, Parker will square off against Jackson-Olin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jackson-Olin has already played their next contest (against Fairfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
