Basketball Game Preview: Northwestern Wildcats vs. High Point Eagles

The Northwestern Wildcats will challenge the High Point Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses for Northwestern and 21 for High Point dating back to last season.

Northwestern is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against DuVal on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Northwestern had to suffer through a 80-41 loss at the hands of DuVal. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Tigers are ranked 76th).

Meanwhile, High Point came up short against Parkdale on Thursday and fell 54-41.

Northwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for High Point, their loss dropped their record down to 0-13.

Everything came up roses for Northwestern against High Point in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 78-37 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northwestern since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
