Softball Recap: Eight Straight Home Victories for Abington Friends

Abington Friends entered their tilt with Perkiomen School on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 15-12 victory over the Panthers.

Lorelai Stirling made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and ten unearned) runs off seven hits. Stirling was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Serafina Kubersky, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Elise Graber was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Abington Friends always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Perkiomen School only posted an OBP of .378.

Abington Friends' win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Perkiomen School, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2.

Coming up, Abington Friends will be playing at home against Archbishop Ryan at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Perkiomen School, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lansdale Catholic at 3:45 p.m. on May 9.
