Basketball Recap: SA Roosevelt Takes a Loss

SA Roosevelt lost against Churchill back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The SA Roosevelt Rough Riders were dealt a 73-43 loss at the hands of the Churchill Chargers. The Rough Riders just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

When it comes to explaining why SA Roosevelt lost, don't look at Maddie Castillo. Despite the final result, she went 6 of 13 on her way to 15 points and five boards. That was a full 34.9% of SA Roosevelt's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

SA Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Churchill, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-5.

SA Roosevelt will head out to square off against Clark at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Churchill, they will host Reagan at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Churchill's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 16 matches.
