Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Huntington North). They came out on top against the Marion Giants by a score of 13-10 on Friday. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Giants recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Britian Helvie looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
At the plate, Serenidy Mitchem was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayda Newman, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.
