Softball Recap: Orange's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Geauga, Orange was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Lutheran West Longhorns with a sharp 20-5 victory. With that win, the Lions brought their scoring average up to 7.4 runs per game.

Kelsey Lewis was a standout: she fired off two home runs, four runs, and two stolen bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Emily Utech, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Orange kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2025.

Orange moved to 3-6 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. As for Lutheran West, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Orange will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Crestwood at 5:00 p.m. on the 14th. As for Lutheran West, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 24-3 defeat against West Geauga on the 28th.
