Softball Game Preview: River View Panthers vs. Warden Cougars

River View is 0-10 against Warden since March of 2019 but things could change on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as River View Panthers take on Warden Cougars at 3:00 p.m. One thing working in River View's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.

On Tuesday, River View made easy work of Liberty Bell and carried off a 17-1 victory. The 17-run effort marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Bryanna Denbow made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Danika Koch was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Lauren Overstreet, who scored four runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

River View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .791. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Warden got the win against Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna last Tuesday by a conclusive 15-4. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Broncos recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

River View's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Warden, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
