Volleyball Recap: Eastern Comes Up Short

Eastern suffered their biggest loss since August 19th on Thursday. They came up short against the Rossville Hornets, falling 3-0. Comets fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Hornets since Thursday.

While Eastern ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-19, 25-22.

Rossville found their leader in freshman Cassie Schoon, who had 18 digs and four aces. Those 18 digs set a new season-high mark for Schoon.

The defeat snapped Eastern's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-4 record. As for Rossville, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Eastern didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Delphi Community on the 2nd. As for Rossville, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Western on the 2nd.
