Soccer Recap: Roanoke Rapids Comes Up Short

Roanoke Rapids was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 6-0 to the Wake Prep Academy Guardians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Wake Prep Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 last Thursday.

Roanoke Rapids' defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Wake Prep Academy, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 14-1-1.

Looking ahead, Roanoke Rapids will be playing in front of their home fans against American Leadership Academy-Johnston at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Roanoke Rapids will be up against American Leadership Academy-Johnston's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.93 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Wake Prep Academy, they are taking a road trip to square off against Nash Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nash Central's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
