Basketball Recap: East Chapel Hill Comes Up Short on the Road Against Green Hope

East Chapel Hill had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 46-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Green Hope Falcons on Monday. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 61-45 to the Falcons when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was William Characklis, who posted 11 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Frederick Rothert, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards.

Green Hope's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Korell Griffin led the charge by putting up nine points and five rebounds. Will Hennegan was another key player, scoring six points and six boards.

Green Hope has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

East Chapel Hill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-53 loss against Durham Academy on the 19th. As for Green Hope, they have also already played their next game, a 75-32 defeat against Broughton on the 19th.
