Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Catholic of Pointe Coupee). They put the hurt on the Montgomery Tigers with a sharp 17-5 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

The win was the fourth in a row for Catholic of Pointe Coupee, bringing their record for this year to 9-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Montgomery, they moved to 6-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Catholic of Pointe Coupee wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 7-1 loss against Sam Houston on the 8th. As for Montgomery, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-9 defeat against Ouachita Christian on the 8th.
