Volleyball Game Preview: Hoggard Vikings vs. Ashley Screaming Eagle

The Hoggard Vikings are taking a road trip to square off against the Ashley Screaming Eagle at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hoggard is coming into the match hot, having won their last 17 games.

Hoggard barely beat Coastal Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Vikings put the hurt on the Centurions with a sharp 3-0 win on Wednesday.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Hoggard was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-14, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Ashley made easy work of West Brunswick on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

Ashley not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept West Brunswick between 18 and 21 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-21, 25-18.

Ashley's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Hoggard, their victory bumped their record up to 21-3.

Hoggard took their win against Ashley when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
