Volleyball Recap: Eastlake's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Eastlake waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Lufkin Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Falcons have posted since August 31, 2024.

Eastlake had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-19, 25-18.

Eastlake's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Genna Gandara, who had seven digs and one block. Gandara is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 16 or more in each of the last 45 games she's played dating back to last season. Giselle Gandara was another key player, getting 12 kills and nine digs.

Eastlake's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Lufkin, their loss dropped their record down to 4-1.

Eastlake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Melissa on the 16th. As for Lufkin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Pearce on the 16th.
