Baseball Recap: Deer Lakes Takes a Loss

The matchup between Deer Lakes and Burrell on Tuesday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Lancers fell just short of the Bucs by a score of 13-12. The Lancers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bucs earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Deer Lakes got a big performance out of Noah Shurina, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Shurina is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Jake Fleischer was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Deer Lakes' defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Burrell, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.

While Deer Lakes had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
