Softball Recap: Freedom Takes a Loss

After flying high against Stroudsburg on Monday, Freedom came back down to earth. The Patriots came up short against the Nazareth Area Blue Eagles on Wednesday, falling 11-1. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Blue Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Freedom's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Nazareth Area, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Freedom will venture away from home to square off against Easton Area at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rovers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Nazareth Area, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Bethlehem Catholic at 4:00 p.m. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.93 runs per game on average), something the Blue Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
