Baseball Recap: Union City Triumphs

Union City got themselves on the board against Thomas-Fay-Custer on Thursday, but Thomas-Fay-Custer never followed suit. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Terriers. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Terriers: they've now won four in a row.

The result came thanks to Aiden Williams's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Carson Biffle was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Union City's victory bumped their record up to 23-6. As for Thomas-Fay-Custer, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union City will take on Millwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Thomas-Fay-Custer, they will square off against Pioneer-Pleasant Vale at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
