Horizon had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Lake Gibson Braves, posting a 78-11 victory. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Horizon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zoe Corjay, who went 6 of 10 to rack up 14 points. Corjay is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sofia Duque, who posted nine points and five steals.

When it comes to explaining why Lake Gibson lost on Saturday, don't look at Ariana Villegas. Despite the final result, she had six points.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Horizon, bringing their record for this year to 17-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points over those games. As for Lake Gibson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
