North Hardin dropped their record down to 10-5 on Saturday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They lost 7-1 to the Ohio County Eagles. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Trojans couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Ohio County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7-1. Considering they have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

For Ohio County's part, Emma Messmann (2027) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Messmann (2027).

On the hitting side, Haley Patton (2027) was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Lily-Kate Hill (2026), who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one double.

Coincidentally, North Hardin and Ohio County will both be playing Madisonville-North Hopkins the next time they take the field. The Trojans will head out to face the Maroons at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
