Basketball Recap: Maloney Takes a Loss

Maloney lost against East Catholic back in January of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Maloney Spartans were outmatched by the East Catholic Eagles and fell 82-53. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Eagles are ranked sixth).

This is the second loss in a row for Maloney and nudges their season record down to 8-7. As for East Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

Maloney does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Catholic, they will host Newington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
