Rogelio Hernandez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Marco Nunez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Emilio Vasquez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
San Lorenzo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .512 or higher in eight consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Tennyson not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 8, 2024. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Mt. Diablo an 8-0 shutout.
Tennyson's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alex Ceja, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
San Lorenzo pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.the team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team won's by an average of 10.8 runs thus far As for Tennyson, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Tennyson's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: San Lorenzo hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .447. It's a different story for Tennyson, though, as they've only averaged .209. Will they be able to contain San Lorenzo's hitters?
