Soccer Game Preview: Lakewood vs. Lower Richland

The Lakewood Gators will head out to take on the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Lakewood and ten for Lower Richland.

Lakewood managed to keep up with South Florence until halftime two weeks ago, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Gators came up short against the Bruins, falling 4-0.

Meanwhile, Lower Richland fell victim to Hartsville and their airtight defense last Friday. They lost 9-0 to the Red Foxes.

Lakewood now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Lower Richland, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

Lakewood took their victory against Lower Richland when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 9-3 score. In that matchup, the Gators amassed a halftime lead of 6-2, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
