Basketball Game Preview: Plattsmouth Blue Devils vs. Louisville Lions

The Plattsmouth Blue Devils will face off against the Louisville Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Plattsmouth is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season.

If Plattsmouth beats Louisville with 50 points on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Plattsmouth enjoyed a cozy 50-36 win over Conestoga on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Traceson Skalberg went supernova for Plattsmouth, going 10 for 17 on his way to 23 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Those 23 points gave Skalberg a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Derek Nanke, who posted six points and 12 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Louisville ended up a good deal behind McCook on Friday and lost 68-51.

Plattsmouth will have to contain Jase Ostblom as he made an impact in Louisville's last game. He had 21 points. The game was Ostblom's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Alex Sorensen, who put up 11 points.

Plattsmouth's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Louisville, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4.

Plattsmouth didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Louisville when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 48-42 win.
