Basketball Game Preview: NSU University Sharks vs. Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs

The NSU University Sharks will challenge the Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. NSU University knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Cardinal Gibbons likes a good challenge.

NSU University is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 64-45 victory over Pine Crest.

Meanwhile, Cardinal Gibbons blew past Don Soffer Aventura, posting a 78-49 win. Given the Chiefs' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Barracuda are ranked 338th), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

NSU University has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 15-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Cardinal Gibbons, their victory bumped their record up to 21-4.

NSU University came up short against Cardinal Gibbons in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, falling 75-68. Can NSU University avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
