Preview: Almira-Coulee-Hartline Warriors vs. Valley Christian Panthers

Almira-Coulee-Hartline is 9-1 against Valley Christian since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Almira-Coulee-Hartline Warriors' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Valley Christian Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Almira-Coulee-Hartline put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They breezed by Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame at home to the tune of 54-18. Given Almira-Coulee-Hartline's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame is ranked 298th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Almira-Coulee-Hartline found their leader in underclassman Peyton Roberts, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Emma Whitaker, who scored eight points.

Even though Valley Christian has not done well against Selkirk recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Valley Christian skirted past Selkirk 37-34. The win was just what Valley Christian needed coming off of a 69-29 defeat in their prior game.

Almira-Coulee-Hartline is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Valley Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.

Everything came up roses for Almira-Coulee-Hartline against Valley Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 56-26 win. Will Almira-Coulee-Hartline repeat their success, or does Valley Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
