Baseball Game Preview: Nativity BVM Green Wave vs. Marian Catholic

The Nativity BVM Green Wave will face off against Marian Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Nativity BVM headed into their last contest having not scored more than two runs for five straight, but Mahanoy Area let them put that streak behind them. The Green Wave never let the Golden Bears get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Green Wave in their matchups with the Golden Bears: they've now won eight in a row.

ZENO RUGH was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those runs marked the first that he scored this season. Another player making a difference was NICK WAGNER, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Nativity BVM was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Marian Catholic, as they earned their first away win of the season. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over Shenandoah Valley on Tuesday.

Nativity BVM's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Marian Catholic, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-4.
