Baseball Recap: Independence Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Independence fell victim to Williamsburg and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Mustangs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Independence's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2. As for Williamsburg, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Independence beat the Raiders by a score of 13-2 later that day.
