Baseball Recap: Philipsburg-Osceola Gets the Win

Philipsburg-Osceola came out on top against Bedford on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Mountaineers had just enough and edged out the Bisons 8-7. The Mountaineers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bisons, too.

Archer Baughman was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sam McDonald, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Philipsburg-Osceola's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Bedford, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Philipsburg-Osceola will head out to challenge Penns Valley Area at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.64 runs per game on average), something the Mountaineers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bedford, they will venture away from home to square off against Penn Cambria at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
