Softball Game Preview: Boca Ciega Pirates vs. St. Petersburg Catholic Barons

The Boca Ciega Pirates will challenge the St. Petersburg Catholic Barons at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Boca Ciega is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Hollins on Tuesday. They lost 13-2 to the Royals. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Royals recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Lexi Bordeaux made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, St. Petersburg Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Admiral Farragut, falling 18-2.

Boca Ciega's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for St. Petersburg Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
