Baseball Recap: Pacific Ridge Wins Going Away Against St. Joseph Academy

Pacific Ridge barely beat St. Joseph Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Pacific Ridge blew past St. Joseph Academy 9-1 on Wednesday. The Firebirds' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Brendan Huggett made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Madden Lafleur was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Cal Chivers was another key player, scoring two runs.

Pacific Ridge's record is now 2-3. As for St. Joseph Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Pacific Ridge will have a chance to go back-to-back against St. Joseph Academy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
