Baseball Recap: Benton Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Benton walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Murphysboro Red Devils 10-8. Surprisingly, this marked the Rangers' sixth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Benton got a massive performance out of Trey Severin, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Severin has posted since back in March of 2024. Kyle Thomas was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Benton's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-20. As for Murphysboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-15.
