Softball Recap: Tracy Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Tracy entered their tilt with St. Mary on Tuesday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 19-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won ten matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Hayden Fell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emry Couch, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Taylor Sansaver was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Tracy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .806. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .371 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Tracy pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for St. Mary's, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Coming up, Tracy is taking a road trip to take on West at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolfpack have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.23 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for St. Mary's, they will welcome Lincoln at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
