Basketball Game Preview: Northwest Christian Crusaders vs. Scottsdale Christian Academy Eagles

Northwest Christian hasn't had much luck against Scottsdale Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Northwest Christian Crusaders will square off against the Scottsdale Christian Academy Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Saturday, everything went Northwest Christian's way against Payson as Northwest Christian made off with a 60-37 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Crusaders.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Scottsdale Christian Academy). They blew past Red Rock 83-26 on Monday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Scorpions are ranked 299th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northwest Christian pushed their record up to 9-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Scottsdale Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 16-9.

Northwest Christian beat Scottsdale Christian Academy 58-48 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northwest Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
