Baseball Game Preview: IMG Academy Blue Ascenders vs. First Baptist Academy Lions

The IMG Academy Blue Ascenders will head out to take on the First Baptist Academy Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Wednesday, IMG Academy Blue came up short against Fort Myers and fell 11-7. The Ascenders have struggled against the Green Wave recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

IMG Academy Blue got a good showing from Carson Flanagan, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. What's more, Flanagan gave up only four walks, the fewest he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Kapono Kaha'i made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases. Joey Gadams was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, First Baptist Academy waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 12-2 victory. Considering the Lions have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

First Baptist Academy's win bumped their record up to 16-7. As for IMG Academy Blue, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.
